Collection of information, analysis and drafting of the document on the monitoring of palm oil cultivation.

Deforestation is an alarming problem worldwide, which is why the project seeks to break the link between commodity agriculture, specifically in the context of oil palm oil production, and the loss of forests in Peru, through the sponsorship of The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) and the Norwegian Agency for Development (NORAD)
Peru is the seventh country with the highest deforestation of primary forests (according to Global Forest Watch), in 2018 it lost 140,185 ha of primary forests, the main cause being the change in land use, which is why the project will focus on reducing the progress of this deforestation given by agricultural production.
Analyze the current and future role of palm oil in driving deforestation and create a guide to reduce the contribution of the sector, promoting zero deforestation and contributing to the transparency of agricultural production.
It is expected to analyze the deforestation trend and link it to specific actors, make maps of the supply chain of each company and develop a guide of good practices to implement monitoring and traceability systems for companies in the palm oil supply chain.
Collection of information, analysis and drafting of the document on the monitoring of palm oil cultivation.
Definition of strategies that will strengthen synergies between large companies and small and medium producers.
Study that corroborates the targeting trends of oil palm cultivation in 4 regions, Ucayali, San Martín, Loreto and Huánuco.
This Project helped promote synergies between large companies with medium and small producers, as well as promoting sustainability policies in private companies to improve their supply practices and link them with an incentive program for the restoration of degraded forest landscapes.
The project is an environmental economic venture of the Bicentennial that reconciles with the socio-environmental demand “Forest for all” to achieve sustainable strategic income.
